Moving Boundaries

with 4 comments

IMG_1501eWe have finally taken the next step toward new fencing, which, ironically, involves the removal of the fences that were here when we bought the place. It is kind of an exciting undoing. Immediately, the previous boundaries are softened, which allows us to get a new sense for the lay of the land. Unfortunately, that doesn’t make the design decisions we next need to make, entirely obvious. There is still a burden of imagining all possible weather events, and all the potential usage situations and scenarios, in order to make the best possible choices for location and arrangement of facilities.

We are perched on the edge of next.

The myriad activities of the rest of the world swirl around, regardless where we are in the process. We are alone with our petty concern, which is of utmost importance for our days to come. It is a thrilling responsibility.

Our unknown horses, somehow present in our minds, will be helping us to create their new home.

  2. Do you have any pictorial representation of how this will look, John? You know, a diagram. Obviously, Cyndie will have been picking up ideas and inspiration from all the places she has visited, including your own vision.

Re:an exciting undoing – wonderful how you are exploring the existential unfolding moment! What a fantastic spirit of adventure and realization of the future perfect. You are showing me your heels or should that be hooves? There is no holding you guys back… What a magnificent leap of faith and imagination!

    • We do have a diagram. Several, in fact. Working documents. We are awaiting the view with all internal fences removed, to see what that inspires, and then will update our diagrams one last time, in consultation with the two contractors we are working with.
The latest idea Cyndie picked up from last week’s visit to Linda’s was, to have 2 round pens. That is different than we had originally been planning.
