Yellow Jersey
The neon yellow jersey I wear more often than any other is featured today, appropriately enough on top of a pile of composting manure. It’s where I spend most of my time when I’m not on the bike it seems. Nothing fancy, but entirely effective.
This was really hard to photograph because the brightness of the jersey was in direct conflict with keeping the pile of composting manure light enough to identify.

p.s. Happy Birthday to our beautiful daughter, Elysa, today! I’ll see you soon, E! And we’ll party!!

John, you must let me in on your secret: how can you suddenly just go off and leave everything else behind. You don’t seem to have much external help and certainly appear to keep it to a minimum. Who is standing in for you? That said, you like few others can enjoy the open road and be revitalized by it.

Well, it’s not much of a secret that Cyndie can handle things when I am away. Since this bike trip is an annual event for me, it becomes a little easier to plan for it.

But, I guess even Cyndie can’t do it all on her own, but she has a great rapport with those around, so I guess that is how she makes it work – and maybe she is on holiday from her full time job. I guess I have to find a way of letting go on occasion like you. That said, others in the family seem to need to let go even more than I do. Nevertheless, for the next couple of months, we need to strive at making a go of it here, entertaining our guests and keeping everything green and thriving – like the wonderful stories you are experiencing and will no doubt be recounting. Life is a beautiful open road in so many ways.

I need to bring you up to date that Cyndie is indeed on permanent holiday from her full time job. She is now the one at home while I have returned to work 4-days a week. We’ve swapped roles!
