I saw so last night
while watching tv
I was avoiding actual headlines
of terror and pain
that rerun on the newsfeed
I usually read
so for a night
I escaped
and my soft spot
was moved
to tears
at seeing artists
whom I don’t really know
relish their moment
for shows I haven’t seen
where they get to act
life’s emotions
that we then feel
while eating popcorn
and on rare occasions
M&M’s …crispy

Oops. Don’t take that poem literally about eating popcorn and Crispy M&M’s. I just saw the ad that they were back, and haven’t had any myself, yet. I’m hoping to avoid feeling like I need to hoard them if/when I finally spot them on a shelf somewhere… That marketing ploy sure works well, doesn’t it?
