Stone Work
I’ve found myself thinking about Nepal and the Himalayan mountains lately. What better way to honor that special place again than with a few shots of rocks? One is a cairn that existed long before I wandered up to take a picture. It is draped with prayer flags that weren’t catching much wind. The other is a rock I balanced during a session of play along the Dudh Kosi river while my friendly Sherpa, Lakpa, watched over me from above. There’s many a day I wish I could just step through a door and be on those trails in that region again.

Hi John – the ‘story of stone’ goes back a long way. Your first photo reminds me of those in Mongolia where the religion was shamanism (is that the right word?) I’d really encourage you to read the Horse Boy and see the film inspired by Rupert Isaacson where he tries to reach a closer understanding of all this.
The second photo is amazing – who but you could have achieved that! And how the world could use your sensitivity in terms of balance, for what else is real sustainability!
And thirdly how great to see YOU on top of the world again, projecting your healthy insights for us all.
