Fading Scenes
Most people will be celebrating the melting snowpack in my region of the world this week as temperatures climb up into digits we don’t see much in the winter. In many ways, I am as ready as ever for the next season of the year, but strangely, I am also feeling a little melancholy about the loss of all the incredible photo opportunities of winter’s snow-scape…

Thanks, Katy! You know what snowpack really is. I’ve still got mini-mountains piled beside the sidewalk and driveway and the yard has about a foot and a half, even as the temps climb into the 50’s.

Your observations are touching, but your photos are striking! As an aside, we are coming out of a winter of 172 inches of snow so far, and I admit to feeling like a winter warrior at times. Happy spring, John!
